Because dementia can affect a resident's memory, speech, movement, decision making abilities and judgment, caring for a  resident with dementia can be challenging and complex. To provide quality care requires an understanding of the dementia-related disorder/disease. In this course, students will learn about causes, risk factors, symptoms and treatment options for dementia and strategies for caring for a resident with dementia.
